Sir, Gazette readers might like to know that the town council has reported its views on the Marriotts Close redevelopment to West Oxfordshire District Council: 'The Town Council applauds this imaginative scheme and is happy to give its total support.' 'Total support'? Having listened to the town councillors' discussion at their meeting on August 2, I was dumbfounded to read these words. At that meeting, I heard town councillors raise specific concerns about the Simons proposals; I read in their own supporting statement to WODC over a dozen serious criticisms and reservations about the scheme. read more
