Snow latest: Drivers crash on icy roads

THE cold weather conditions in Oxfordshire were still causing problems for drivers and rail commuters today.

Paramedics said they were bracing themselves for ice-related incidents today, after 136 999 calls yesterday.

John Willis, a spokesman for South Central Ambulance, warned that icy pavements could be dangerous.

Drivers escaped serious injury at junction nine of the M40 at Wendlebury when two cars crashed on the southbound exit sliproad shortly after 7.30am.

A lorry skidded off the road outside Springfield Farm on the B4449, near Stanton Harcourt, today, but there were no reports of injuries.

Rail passengers suffered a frustrating journey to work when the 7.42am First Great Western train from Didcot to London Paddington was cancelled.
