CLOWNING around is usually frowned on at school.
But teachers made an exception to the rule during a week of circus-related fun in Witney.
Pupils at The Blake Primary School, in Cogges Hill Road, enjoyed fooling around, and tried their hand at circus skills, culminating in a series of Big Top shows for parents.
Headteacher, Marilyn Trigg, explained: "The circus week was a way of helping maintain a dynamic curriculum and learning environment, both for pupils and staff.
"Every child attended circus skills workshops, where they were taught a skill. On the last day, each year group held a Big Top production, where they performed their new-found skills to parents."
She added: "We are a successful school, constantly striving to achieve greater levels of attainment. This week helped the children with their concentration, retention, conceptual understanding, and self-awareness, which can be transferred to the classroom."
