A MAN from Witney has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a collision in which a motorcyclist died today.
Police this afternoon appealed for witnesses following the crash on the A420 near Buckland today.
Police said a black VT750DC Honda motorbike and a French-registered silver Citroen C5 collided at about 5.15am, near the junction with the road to Bampton and Tadpole Bridge.
The motorcyclist, a 51-year-old man, died on the way to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
The road was closed between the Faringdon roundabout and the Kingston Bagpuize roundabout, but reopened at about 12.20pm.
Sgt Bill Sykes, of Abingdon Roads Policing, said: "We know that vehicles passed the scene after the collision and would appeal to anyone who may have driven past to contact us.
"I would also like to speak to anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision.
"If anyone saw this accident and has not spoken to the police it is vital they do so, so we can ascertain what the cause of the collision was."
Sgt Sykes can be contacted via the Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
