Severe weather warning for drivers

DRIVERS were issued with a severe weather warning this morning as a blanket of freezing fog covered Oxfordshire.

Visibility was reduced in places to less than 50m and drivers were advised to use their fog lights and take extra care on the roads.

Met Office staff who issued the weather warning say they expect the fog to clear during the course of the morning.

A spokesman for South Central Ambulance said no accidents were reported in the county overnight and during the early hours.
