Customers angry after photography shop shuts

CUSTOMERS say they have been left out of pocket after an Oxford photography shop closed.

Angry messages have been left on Facebook page of Little Clarendon Street’s Blue Amigo.

The store has shut and the unit is up for let but the Oxford Mail has been unable to get in touch with its owners.

Janet Leonard wrote: “I bought and paid for a deal on Gumtree with this company in April and have never received my products... shame on you.”

Gemma Winning wrote: “This company is a disgrace! Avoid at all cost! Ordered in May and still no order, no reply to calls/emails etc.”

The Oxford Mail has contacted 15 customers who left messages. Of the two who replied, one said she got her cash back.

The company’s website and phone lines are currently down but it is recorded as still trading with Companies House. It has not filed for bankruptcy.

Owner Firaj Vakil is uncontactable, as is managing director Julie Cook.

Haines Watt, the company’s accountant, refused to comment.

The firm was registered in 2007 and had five employees.

Its head office is registered in Twyford Road, Banbury under the name Amigo Photography and Print.
