Gennaro Contaldo at Jamie’s Pizzeria
THE man who taught celebrity chef Jamie Oliver how to cook Italian food was on hand to open a new pizzeria in Oxford.
Gennaro Contaldo joined his former pupil at the new addition to Jamie’s Italian, on the corner of George Street and Gloucester Street.
Mr Contaldo said: “Jamie said ‘let’s open a pizzeria’.
“He said we have to make sure it’s affordable for everyone and that they are going to get the best pizza they can get.”
The company said the pizzeria has been set up as a standalone operation in the basement of the restaurant, with its own menu.
