Bakers Butchers is a truly family business. Established since 1981 and has been at this site for 30 years. Donald’s parents both came from out of retirement to help start up. Many customers will remember Cyril for his smiley face and dry wit. A true character, never to be replaced. Billy Rideout joined Donald in 1982 and has been here ever since and is now a major shareholder in the business. Both Donald and Billy’s sons, Tom and John, now work in the business and wives, Gay and Denise help out with paperwork, making it a proper family business.
Bakers has undergone many changes over the years, including two major shop refits and the range of goods on offer has increased many fold.
We are very proud to have been awarded the 5 stars of excellence from W.O.D.C. and proud to serve amongst others, The Royal Oak Ramsden (over 20 years) winners of The National Country Pub of the Year Award.
Many thanks to our long standing staff without whom we could not do what we do, Chris Bools, Alex McDonald, James Donnelly, Victoria Cookson, Sandra Huxtable, Caroline Danford and Louise Henderson.
The key to Bakers success is flexibility. They strive to please every customer, no matter how much they spend. From ordering exotic meats such as Crocodile, Kudu, Ostrich, Kangaroo, Zebra, to filling freezers. Free deliveries for large orders. We also assist with outside catering and we can arrange for pig roasts, from supply only to the full service. Our motto is “We strive to please”
