Road accident

Sir – I would sincerely like to thank all passengers travelling on the Stagecoach bus and passing the Somerfield Store in Witney on Saturday, January 9, at about 3.15pm, when a collision occurred between the bus and my car.

I would particularly like to thank the passengers for their co-operation and help when I boarded the bus outside of the butchers in order to resolve the matter with the driver.

I would be most grateful if any of the passengers could get in touch with me either by phone or email, in particular if they could provide me with an account of their version of events.

Dawn Locke, Farmers Close, Witney, (01993 200788, roger.locke@ntlworld.com)

I'm guessing that Stagecoach said whatever to get the bus moving again, then have since denied all knowledge of the accident?

The County Council consulted some years ago on making the High and Corn Streets a one way giratory / pedestrian priority and reducing parking to make sure such conflicts didn't happen. They then went away and that was the last we heard. What are our Councillors doing to chace this issue?
