Sir – I would like urgently to appeal to any of your readers affected by prostate cancer to take part in an important survey launched by the Prostate Cancer Charity.
As someone who has been directly affected by the disease, I know that choosing which treatment to have can be a minefield for men with prostate cancer. There are still huge variations in the level of care.
For this reason the charity has compiled a draft set of standards to ensure that men get the treatment and care they deserve wherever they are. They need to hear the views of as many people as possible with experience of the disease, to ensure they reflect what men with prostate cancer need.
If you or someone close to you has had prostate cancer, please help shape the future of care for men with the disease by taking part in the Prostate Cancer Charity’s survey. Go to www.prostate-cancer.org.uk/ qualitycare or call 020 8222 7222.
Together we can ensure that all men with prostate cancer get the same top quality care, support and information they deserve and need, every step of the way.
