SPELSBURY resident Sir Ben Kingsley is among the all-star cast of Hugo, this weekend’s presentation by Charlbury’s Own Cinema.
The enchanting family film, directed by Martin Scorsese, tells the story of an orphan who lives at Monparnasse railway station in 1930s Paris, looking after its clocks.
The only possession he has linking him to his father is an automaton (mechanical man) but he needs to find a heart-shaped key to operate it and unlock a secret the automaton can reveal.
Hugo is played by Asa Butterfield, with Ray Winstone, Sacha Baron Cohen, Emily Mortimer, Helen McCrory, Jude Law and Christopher Lee also among the cast.
Doors at the Memorial Hall, in Brown’s Lane, Charlbury, along with the bar, open at 6.45pm, with the film, which has a U certificate, starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for under-15s. For more details, see chocfilms.info
