SOME of Oxfordshire’s most dazzling archaeological treasures will go on show in Woodstock on Saturday.

The exhibition at the Oxfordshire Museum, called Unearthed: Riches of the Romans and Anglo-Saxons, features a number of artefacts from Roman and Anglo-Saxon Oxfordshire which have not been displayed in public before.

County collections project officer Anna Griffiths, who is based at the county museum service resource centre in Standlake, said: “It looks at some of the really interesting archaeological items in the county collections from the first millenium AD.

“There are a couple of Roman objects and lots of really beautiful Anglo-Saxon ones.”

The exhibition runs from Saturday, until Sunday, April 27.

The museum, at Fletcher’s House, in Park Street, is open from Tuesday to Saturday between 10am and 5pm and on Sundays from 2pm to 5pm. Admission is free.
