COUNTRY singer Ags Connolly is launching his debut album with a special concert at Fat Lil’s in Witney tomorrow.

The album, called How About Now, was recorded in October with a number of other artists and will be released on Monday.

The 31-year-old, from Finstock, will be playing the full album live but admits it will have a different feel because he will be performing solo.

He said: “I’m hoping it will do alright. I’ve played there before and I’m hoping it will be a good show.”

Mr Connolly plays music as a form of escape from his day job in financial services.

He said: “I first got into it a few years ago. I was interested in singer-songwriter stuff and it gravitated to country music. It’s something where I realised I liked it and it seemed to suit me.

“I like the simplicity of it. The fact that you can make difficult things sound really simple, whereas other genres can make it more complicated.”

The concert at the Corn Street club is at 8pm. Admission is free of charge.
