WITNEY Music Society holds the final concert of the 2013-14 season on Friday.
Trio Con Brio Copenhagen, from Denmark, will perform at Wood Green School, in Woodstock Road at 7.30pm.
The trio consists of Soo-Kyung Hong on cello, Jens Elvekjaer on piano, and violinist Johannes Søe Hansen, who is standing in for Soo-Kyung’s sister Soo-Jin Hong, who is pregnant.
They will play music by Haydn, Smetana and Mendelssohn.
Society chairman Tom Jones said: “We try to get good concerts to start and finish the season.
“They’ve been brilliant all the way through and this is an especially good one.
“We hope it will be a really good concert and we’re sure it will be with the music they are playing. It’s very accessible and has well-known works.”
Dr Jones said it had been a successful season. He added: “Numbers in the audience have kept up quite well.
“We would like to see even more people, especially for a particularly good concert like this.”
The school hall can seat 200 people.
Tickets cost £11 for adults, £10 for concessions and £1 for under-19s. They can be bought on the night or from Music Stand, in High Street, Greenway Antiques, in Corn Street, or call Dr Jones on 01993 702296.
