DRAMA students at Burford School have combined Lewis Carroll's classic story Alice in Wonderland with TV talent show The X Factor for their new production.
A cast of more than 20 pupils, aged 12 to 18, will perform Alice in Medialand at the secondary school from tonight until Friday.
Instead of chasing rabbits, Alice chases stardom as she auditions for a singing contest.
The story follows her rising profile and the intense media scrutiny that comes with it.
Drama teacher Damian Warren said: “We wanted to put a spin on the original story to highlight how the media was involved today with programmes like The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
“We asked the students how we could use Alice in a show like that and they went away and came up with the idea to use the X Factor concept to tell the story.”
Performances start at 7.30pm. Tickets are £8 for adults and £5 for concessions. To book, call 01993 823303.
