AFTER a successful first event last year, the Finstock Ale folk and beer festival returns this weekend.

The festival bar, in a marque on the playing field, opens at 6pm on Friday.

At 7.30pm, an evening of live folk music starts in the village hall. The bar closes at 11.30pm.

On Saturday the beer festival runs from noon-11pm and there will be live music from 1pm, indoors or out depending on the weather, food stalls, including a barbecue, venison roast and paelleria, and Morris dancing during the afternoon, plus a bouncy castle for children.

On Sunday, the bar will be open from noon-10pm and there will be a family barbecue on the village green from 2pm.

The bar will have 24 beers and four ciders on sale, until stocks run out.

Entry to the marquee, including a festival pint glass and two half-pints of beer or cider is £8, or £3 without a glass or beer. Tickets for the Friday night folk event are £5.

Proceeds go to the project to rebuild the village hall, in Well Hill.
