Striking a pose: Jill Stew dance school students in action
THEATRE and film will be brought to life by young singers and dancers in Burford this weekend.
Seventy students from The Jill Stew School of Dance in Witney will take part in the extravaganza at Burford School on Friday and Saturday.
The youngsters will perform pieces from Hairspray, The Sound of Music, Oklahoma and The Phantom of the Opera.
The Jill Stew School of Dance provides after-school classes for three-year-olds to adults, and the event is a chance for all to showcase their efforts.
The school’s joint principal, Amy Webb, said: “For a local dance school we have got some phenomenal talent. The show is a cavalcade of various styles, and hopefully people will be able to sit back, relax, enjoy the show and be transported by the magic of stage and screen.”
The performance will take place at 7.30pm on Friday, and at 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday.
Tickets cost £8 for adults and £6 for concessions. Proceeds will fund a new sprung floor at the Bridge Street school.
Tickets are available from the dance school, Rapture in the Woolgate Shopping Centre and We Three Kings in Bridge Street or by calling 01993 772464.
