A40 crash victims still in hospital

TWO drivers injured when their cars collided on the A40 on Saturday are still receiving treatment in hospital.

The collision happened on the road between Wolvercote and Cassington, which resulted in a Henley woman being airlifted to hospital.

The woman, in her late 30s, was driving a green Peugeot 206 estate which was involved in a collision with a blue Volvo V70 being driven by a 67-year-old man from Surrey.

Both drivers were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, for treatment to their injuries and both were being kept in for further observation.

A spokesman for the police said their injuries were serious, but not thought to be life threatening.

The A40 was closed in both directions for three hours while police investigated the crash and the wrecked cars were removed.

I drive to work every day to and from Oxford to Witney, and only last week I narrowly missed to 2 cars that were over taking and heading straight towards me in evening rush hour. and only this morning the car in front overtook on the double white lines while the traffic was at a snail pace heading towards oxford.
