Burglars target mobile homes

Burglars raided two neighbouring caravans in Carterton.

The first break-in happened at Carterton Mobile Home Park, off Milestone Road, between 9.40am and 1pm on Thursday when a laptop and £130 were stolen.

Between 7.30am and 9am on Friday, jewellery worth almost £600 was stolen, including a gold ring with a large tiger's eye' semi-precious stone.

PC Kerry Boyle said: "Although the residents have given us differing times when these crimes took place, I believe there is a good chance these two properties were targeted at the same time.

"Entry was gained into both via front windows, which are easily seen from the rest of the park.

"Considering these break-ins may have also occurred during the morning on either Thursday or Friday, I am hoping there is a good chance someone may have seen something suspicious. If you did, please get in touch."

Anyone with information should contact police on 08458 505505 or speak anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
