Going burlesque for fundraising calendar
11:40am Wednesday 21st November 2012 in News
BURLESQUE is the theme of a calendar which goes on sale next week in aid of an Oxfordshire breast cancer charity.
Witney businessman Chris Clinkard, who runs the Beautiful Linen Group, stepped into the breach when he found out that Against Breast Cancer, based in Abingdon, was not producing its own calendar this year.
Last year, the charity’s Witney fundraising team put together a boudoir-themed calendar, which proved a great success. This year, Mr Clinkard decided that a collection of photographs of models dressed in naughty but nice burlesque style would be a winner.
He enlisted the help of former Britain’s Got Talent contestant Fabia Cerra, from Oxford, the Green Room Studios in Witney, and Pitch Black photographers, and between them they lined up a photoshoot with 20 amateur models.
“We have some amazingly beautiful photos of the ladies, and it’s all very tasteful – my requirement was that it had be suitable to give to my mother,” said Mr Clinkard.
The calendar, priced £5, will be launched at the Blue Boar, in Witney’s Market Square, tomorrow at 7pm.
Tickets for the event are priced £3 in advance or £4 on the door.
Call 01993 708330 to reserve tickets or to pre-order the calendar, which goes on sale on Friday, November 30.
All proceeds go to Against Breast Cancer.
