FESTIVE shoppers in Burford can compete for a timely post-Christmas boost if they take part in a campaign to show off the town’s specialist retailers.
An ‘independent shop crawl’ was launched by Burford Chamber of Trade on Saturday in an effort to bolster footfall during the winter months.
Visitors to the town can collect a map and get a stamp or signature at each of the 24 businesses taking part.
Those getting all stamps go into a draw for an £800 prize, to be announced on January 7.
Chairwoman of the Burford Chamber of Trade, Jenny Smith said: “Burford has many independent shops and hotels where people can get so many different, quirky and alternative presents for Christmas.
“We wanted to show that off and encourage people to wander round and take their time soaking in what it can offer.
“We are not a clone town.
“We have such a rich variety here. It’s really to help people find out more about their town and support the local economy.”
