HAND-MADE lanterns depicting polar animals snaked their way through the streets of Carterton in the town’s Winter Lights Procession.
The event on Monday night saw hundreds of people walk through the town carrying lanterns, which were made by schoolchildren, community groups and residents at workshops. Among the designs, made from paper and willow, were a giant polar bear, along with a seal and others.
Carterton deputy mayor Lynn Little said: “It was absolutely fantastic and the atmosphere was wonderful.”
