AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after two dogs were dumped at the Blue Cross animal charity’s headquarters near Burford.

Shivering and ill, Rusty and Fern were found outside the charity’s Shilton Road premises.

Rusty, a terrier, had to be put down because she was so unwell and paralysed, but one-year-old dachshund Fern was saved and she is now recovering.

Blue Cross spokesman Leanne Fadden said: “It’s heartbreaking to think how badly Rusty and Fern had been treated, but rest assured that Fern will now be given the best chance to recover from her awful ordeal.”

The RSPCA has launched an investigation into the treatment of the dogs and is appealing for information.

The dogs were abandoned at about 7pm on Monday, December 10, last year.

Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity near the Blue Cross centre around that time of the evening should call the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999.

Well done RSPCA (sick irony intended)

Just perfect handling of the sitation. Now next time somebody needs to get rid of a couple of dogs they may just turn up in a sack in the river instead of being left with caring people..

It seems if you find yourself unable to look after your dog the RSPCA will hunt you down for vengance, rather than try to rehome them.

Whats happened to turn the RSPCA from charitable carers to Corporate Business?
