SNOW is predicted to hit Oxfordshire tomorrow as temperatures plummet over the coming days.

Forecasters say light snow could fall tomorrow, though for others it will just be sleet. No widespread disruption is predicted.

Today’s forecast suggests temperatures will reach a high of 5C, tomorrow it will peak at 3C, and on Sunday there will be a high of just 1C in Oxford but strong winds will mean it feels much colder.

Met Office spokesman Sarah Holland said: “People certainly shouldn’t be surprised if they see some snow over the next couple of days but that is pretty much all Oxfordshire is going to get.

“It has been a very mild first few weeks for January but in the next few weeks temperatures will be slightly below average for this time of year.”

Meanwhile on Wednesday night a thick layer of freezing fog descended on Oxfordshire causing problems for drivers.

The Oxford City FC bus got stuck on the M6 returning from Chester as visibility dropped dramatically.

Managing Director Colin Taylor said the team had “the journey from hell” on their way back from their game as a lorry fire combined with bad weather contrived to cause problems.
