HOME Secretary Theresa May is backing plans for a new hospital for the Thames Valley, near junction 8/9 of the M4 at Maidenhead.
A report presented at a public meeting in Bracknell said the Royal Thames Valley Hospital could be used by about 30,000 people from South Oxfordshire.
Bracknell MP Dr Phllip Lee said specialist services would be placed at the hospital.
Maidenhead MP Ms May gave her support during the meeting.
