FLOOD defence schemes worth £4.1m will help protect homes in Oxfordshire after extra funding was announced by the Government today.
Nine schemes in the county have been approved as part of a nationwide investment in flood defences by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Defra hopes to be able to protect 165,000 homes in Britain by 2015, 20,000 more than its previous target.
