People convicted of offences at magistrates' courts around the county recently include:
BANBURY
- Alexander Lopatin, 48, of Woodstock Road, Oxford, convicted of failing to give information about a driver’s identity to police between September 13 and October 12, and between June 14 and July 13. Fined £1,200 and told to pay £170 costs and £15 victims’ surcharge.
- Ashley Hennessey, 28, of Anson Way, Bicester, admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance in Anson Way, Bicester, on June 22. Given eight-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months. Supervision requirement for 12 months and 180-hour unpaid work requirement. Told to pay £85 costs.
- Max McTaggart, 29, of Edmunds Road, Banbury, admitted stealing electrical appliances and cosmetics worth £84 from Boots in Castle Quay, Banbury, and medicine worth £7 from Poundland in Malthouse Walk, Banbury, on October 22. Also admitted stealing lager worth £5 from Ruscote Arcade, Longelandes Way, Banbury, on May 20, animal worming tablets from Pets at Home in Lockheed Close, Banbury, on September 17, and lager worth £10 from Tesco Express in High Street, Banbury, on July 18. Community order made with drug rehabilitation and 12-month supervision requirements. Told to pay £60 victims’ surcharge and £50 costs.
- Leon Caton, 21, of Harlequin Way, Banbury, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a suspended sentence order made on October 31 by failing to attend an adapt session on January 24. Given 14-week prison sentence.
- Keith Bennett, 56, of Croxford Gardens, Kidlington, Oxford, convicted of using a television without a licence between September 24 and October 25. Fined £200 and told to pay £15 victims’ surcharge and £90 costs.
- Krista Capell, of Hilton Road, Banbury, convicted of dumping sacks containing household waste at Banbury Youth Club, Hilton Road, on August 2. Fined £150 and told to pay £15 victims’ surcharge and £100 costs.
OXFORD
- Bridget Mason, 59, of Newington Road, Stadhampton, admitted drink driving at Oxford Retail Park, Ambassador Avenue, Cowley, on February 2. Had 97 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Community order made with 100-hour unpaid work requirement. Told to pay £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Given 24-month driving ban.
- Alexander Boyd, 27, of Newland, Witney, admitted drink-driving in High Street, Witney, on January 3. Had 127mg of alcohol in 100ml of urine, above the legal limit of 107mg. Fined £359 and told to pay £35 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Given 12-month driving ban.
- Daniel Dudley, 34, of Lower Haddon Farm, Station Road, Bampton, admitted being drunk in Park End Street on February 2. Fined £83 and told to pay £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
- Stuart Gallacher, 47, of Pike Terrace, Oxford, admitted breaching an antisocial behaviour order on February 16 by being drunk in a public place in Cornmarket Street, Oxford. Given six-week prison sentence suspended for six months. Told to pay costs of £80.
- Damien Lea, 32, of Iffley Road, Oxford, admitted stealing diesel worth £740 from the fuel tank of a truck in Wheatley on January 10. Given 16-week prison sentence. Three other offences taking into consideration.
- Glen Nicholson, 31, of no fixed abode, admitted common assault on October 27 in Bowyer Road, Abingdon. Also admitted failing to surrender to magistrates on November 29. Community order made with domestic abuse programme requirement. Restraining order made preventing contact with victim. Told to pay £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
- Amanda Kenney, 26, of Vineyard, Abingdon, admitted assaulting a detention officer on October 6 in Abingdon. Given 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £100 compensation, £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Bound over to keep the peace in the sum of £142.
- Dale Thorn, 30, of Northumberland Court, Banbury, admitted possession of cannabis, a Class B drug, at Northumberland Court on December 12. Fined £100 and told to pay £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
- Nicholas Horton, 47, Thames View, Abingdon, convicted of theft in Blacknall Road, Abingdon, between August 5 and August 15. Community order made with 100-hour unpaid work requirement. Told to pay £500 compensation and £60 victims’ surcharge and £250 costs.
- Qasim Ali, of Howard Street, Oxford, admitted dumping food waste in Besselsleigh Road, Wootton, on June 26. Fined £750 and told to pay £200 compensation, £15 victims’ surcharge and £500 costs.
- Thomas Noble, 20, of Old Road, Headington, Oxford, convicted of driving without insurance in Southfield Road, Oxford, on December 12. Fined £100 and told to pay £20 victims’ surcharge. Given six-month driving ban.
- Andrew Hutchins, 25, of Manor Farm, Church Street, Kidlington, admitted stealing food worth £20 from his employer Marks & Spencer on January 15 and fraudulently refunding £967.98 from the shop’s till between December 13 and January 18. Community order made with 180-hour unpaid work requirement and told to pay £20 compensation and £60 victims’ surcharge.
- Darren James, 38, of Burrows Close, Headington, Oxford, admitted drink-driving in Harbour Road on May 10. Had 181 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Community order made with six-month alcohol treatment requirement, 12-month supervision requirement and 120-hour unpaid work requirement. Told to pay £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. 12-month driving ban.
- Ian Lindsay, 39, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted stealing meat worth £73.50 from Sainsbury’s in Westgate, Oxford, on February 4. Also admitted failing to surrender to magistrates on February 19. Given 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £15 victims’ surcharge.
- Nicholas Sumners, 47, of Lodge Terrace, Chipping Norton, admitted breaching a restraining order in Chipping Norton by going within 30m of Withers Way on February 18. Sent to prison for 14 days.
- Adrian Chivers, 29, of Croasdell Close, Abingdon, admitted drink-driving in St Johns Road, Abingdon, on January 27. Had 98 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Told to do 50 hours unpaid community work, pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and given 36-month driving ban.
