Teacher 'stunned' by child abuse allegations, trial told

A TEACHER told police has was “confused and stunned” by allegations he abused a teenager more than 30 years ago.

Geoffrey Langer, of Farley Lane, Stonesfield, near Witney, denies offences alleged to have taken place in the early 1980s. His male accuser said he was abused by the 64-year-old when he worked at Woodstock’s Malborough School.

Langer never taught his accuser, who was 14 to 16 when the assaults allegedly occured.

He told police: “I refute the allegations that have been made against me and I am shocked that this person for some reason has chosen to do so.”

He denied they performed sex acts on each other, including a sex act on the teenager while he drove him to an Oxford swimming pool.

Langer denies three counts of indecent assault on a male under the age of 16 and one of a serious sexual offence on a person under the age of 16.

The trial is expected to continue until tomorrow.
