Oxfordshire health board discusses lessons from Staffordshire scandal

OXFORDSHIRE health officials will today discuss the implications of the Mid-Staffordshire NHS scandal for the county.

The shadow Oxfordshire health and wellbeing board will meet at County Hall, in New Road, Oxford, at 2pm.

The discussion will be led by Dr Stephen Richards, the chief clinical officer for the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, set to take on NHS funding decisions from April 1.

An inquiry found neglect and abuse led to hundreds of needless deaths from 2005 to 2008 at Stafford General Hospital.
