CARE home residents are making sweet music thanks to The Theatre in Chipping Norton.
As the Witney Gazette reported in January, The Theatre has been running music therapy workshops at the Southerndown Care Home, in Worcester Road, and other homes for the elderly in the town.
The Theatre has now handed over a box of musical instruments to the home so residents can keep playing.
Resident Alma Ferriday, 80, said: “It gives me great pleasure. I was an evacuee during the war and it’s nice to get back into doing the things we didn’t have a chance to do when we were younger.”
Music sessions were also held at the Henry Cornish Care Centre in Oxford Road and Beech Haven Care Home in Burford Road.
The Theatre’s project manager Anne Gill said: “The sessions were lovely and engaging, it was wonderful to be a part of that.”
