Tales boost bedtime reads in comfy zone

AS the sun began to set, children returned to a Witney primary school to be told a final bedtime story by their teachers.
Tower Hill Primary School in Witney converted the carpeted areas of classrooms into a comfy zone with teddy bears and bean bags.
The 100 pupils who took part, along with their parents, sat around and listened to their teachers reading to them.
Last Thursday’s event aimed to encourage bedtime reading at home.
Kate Thorne, 26, a year 2/3 teacher, said: “We wanted to promote a real love for reading and thought it would be a nice experience for children and parents to hear the teacher read a story.
“It was absolutely lovely. It was a lovely shared experience.
“I hope it encourages them to read at home and share stories with their parents.”
