Doctor Who fans can take a break from seeing their time travel hero on screen by visiting an exhibition created by a devotee from Witney.

The exhibition includes annuals, posters and copies of early scripts.

Gordon Hendry worked as a projectionist at the Palace cinema in Witney before it closed, and is showing cinema memorabilia, some from the Palace, in an exhibition at Witney Museum until October 27.

Jenny Learney, 26, organised the show to run with her Witney Film Festival from October 21 to 25.

She said: “Last year we ran a one-day exhibition of some of Gordon’s collection, but it was a shame to get these amazing artefacts out for only one day. This year we are showing it for a lot longer.”

The exhibition includes a film reel of an episode of Doctor Who which the BBC thought it had lost until Mr Hendry picked it up at a car boot sale.

He will the episode at the film festival on October 24.
