9:30am Thursday 10th October 2013 in News
MORE schools have confirmed they will be closed for strike action next week.
The Oxford Mail reported on Tuesday that 278 schools across Oxfordshire would be affected by strikes next Thursday.
Yesterday, Larkrise Primary School in East Oxford, Bayards Hill Primary School in Barton, St Nicolas’ Church of England Primary School in Abingdon, St John’s Catholic Primary School in Banbury, and Long Furlong Primary School in Abingdon joined the list.
Mabel Prichard School in Blackbird Leys, Oxford, and The Warriner School in Bloxham had already confirmed part closures.
Some schools may not be able to confirm closures until the day. Teachers are staging industrial action in protest at pay and proposed pension changes.
The strike has been organised by the National Union of Teachers and National Association of Schoolmasters and Union of Woman Teachers.
