Prime Minister David Cameron has called a campaign to stop a mosque opening in his constituency in Chipping Norton “appalling”.
The Witney MP spoke out after leaflets delivered to homes from the “Nationalist Alliance” claimed the PM had “set up a special task force to ensure your children kneel before Allah”.
Warning of “scaremongering”, Mr Cameron said: “The people in Chippy will see through this sort of nonsense.”
Chipping Norton town councillor Tahirul Hasan won planning permission to convert a shop in Hitchman’s Mews into a mosque in February.
