PM appalled at leaflet

Prime Minister David Cameron has called a campaign to stop a mosque opening in his constituency in Chipping Norton “appalling”.

The Witney MP spoke out after leaflets delivered to homes from the “Nationalist Alliance” claimed the PM had “set up a special task force to ensure your children kneel before Allah”.

Warning of “scaremongering”, Mr Cameron said: “The people in Chippy will see through this sort of nonsense.”

Chipping Norton town councillor Tahirul Hasan won planning permission to convert a shop in Hitchman’s Mews into a mosque in February.

Shows just how out of touch with the people you really are then Mr Cameron.

Bet Dave wouldn't want it on his doorstep in Dean would he!

Chippy residents, unsurprisingly, don't want a mosque in their village either. And as - for the moment at least - we are living in a Democracy they have every right to state their objections as strongly as they wish.

Council was probably to scared to turn down this ridiculous idea.

Yes they can protest, but outright lying isn't allowed and what part of having a task force to ensure that children "kneel before Allah" is the truth?

Isn;t it about time that some inhabitants of Chipping Norton stop thinking that Hot Fuzz is a documentary about their village and realise that there is a big world out there and try to embrace it rather than be scared by it. I'm sure that if they moved into the 20th Century let alone the 21st Century then things may improve a bit.

By the way, when is the next witch burning? I must put it in my diary.
