THE group that commissions healthcare services for Oxfordshire is continuing to seek peoples’ views on how it can meet demands, as it faces a predicted £200m shortfall.

The Oxford Mail reported on Thursday that the Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (OCCG) will have to provide services despite the deficit.

The OCCG will hold four meetings over the next few weeks to hear opinions from people in Oxfordshire.

Stephen Richards, chief executive of OCCG, said “We have already held events in Wantage, Witney and Oxford but we still want to hear from more people who live in Oxfordshire.

“We want to hear from parents, teenagers and people who work in the county about what they think is good about our local NHS.

“We can no longer continue providing services in the way we have done in the past.

“We need new ideas from our young people on what they want from their local NHS so we can change and adapt to our growing population.”

Events will be held on December 3 at Banbury Cricket Club, December 5 at the Littlebury Hotel in Bicester, December 19 at the council offices in Crowmarsh Gifford, Wallingford, and on January 7, 2014, at the town hall in Oxford.
