The county’s chief fire officer has reassured residents that three planned strikes over the Christmas and New Year period will not prevent responses to emergencies.
Dave Etheridge said continuity plans would be in place when members of the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) go on strike on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and January 3.
