COUNCILLORS have met Post Office and WH Smith representatives to discuss plans to move Witney's post office.
It is planned that the post office will move from the Market Square to the back of the WH Smith shop in the Woolgate Centre next year.
WH Smith told the councillors that it would change the layout of the shop, taking out some shelves to create wider aisles.
Richard Langridge, West Oxfordshire District Council's cabinet member for local economy and communities, said: “Post Office services are vital for local residents and so it is imperative that they are safeguarded.
"Although the plans are reassuring, our discussions will continue so we can ensure the best possible outcome.”
