Update: M40 closed for three hours after New Year's Day collision
9:36am Thursday 2nd January 2014 in News
The M40 northbound was closed for almost three hours on New Year’s Day after a crash.
A Porsche had spun round between junction 8a, at Oxford services, and junction 9 at Wendlebury, shortly after 9pm.
It was in collision with a BMW and the driver of the BMW was trapped in his car and had to be cut free by the fire service.
All three lanes of the M40 were closed.
The road re-opened just before midnight.
