A WITNEY resident has won a year-long family pass to Blenheim Palace for making a commitment to recycle more.

Rhea Zambrellas, from North Leigh, won the prize through the Oxfordshire Waste Partnership competition.

The contest tests residents’ knowledge of what can be recycled and asks them to choose one thing that they will recycle more.

Ms Zambrellas has won an annual family pass to the Woodstock stately home worth £57.

She said: “I use reusable bags for shopping and try to minimise the plastic I buy, and it’s great that so many plastics can be recycled in Oxfordshire.”

Reg Waite, of Oxfordshire Waste Partnership, presented Ms Zambrellas with her prize.

He said: “Recycling as much as possible helps us to increase Oxfordshire’s impressive recycling rate and avoids us paying huge taxes on waste to landfill.”

The competition ends on Friday – to enter, go to oxfordshirewaste.gov.uk
