People convicted of offences at magistrates' courts in Oxfordshire recently:

  • Tammy Baird, 32, of Edmunds Road, Banbury, admitted using threatening words or behaviour to cause alarm or distress at Moo Moo’s night club on Banbury High Street and possessing cannabis, a Class B drug, in Edmunds Road, Banbury, on January 4. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
  • Nicholas Donald, 22, of Middleton Road, Banbury, admitted possessing cocaine, a Class A drug, and using threatening words or behaviour to cause distress on Banbury High Street on December 12. Also admitted causing £871.20 criminal damage to a sink at Banbury police station on Warwick Road on December 7. Fined a total of £230, banned from the Wheatsheaf in Banbury for one month, and ordered to pay £150 compensation, a £20 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.
  • Peter Holly, 27, of Oxford Road, Bodicote, near Banbury, admitted drink driving and failing to stop after a road accident where another vehicle was damaged on Twyford Wharf, Banbury, on January 2. Had 65micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, over the legal limit of 35mcg. Fined £320, ordered to pay a £22 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 18 months.
  • Barry Doyle, 33, of Usher Drive, Banbury, admitted assaulting a police constable, PS Platt, in the execution of his duty at Banbury Police Station, Warwick Road, on April 16. Given a 24-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 compensation and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
  • Dale Phillips, 34, of Chapel Street, Bicester, admitted driving whilst disqualified and without insurance on Bucknell Road, Bicester, on November 28. Given a community order with a two-month curfew between the hours of 9pm and 7am. He was ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge, £40 costs, and banned from driving for 11 months.
  • Kit Pentlow, 18, of Church Lane, Barford St John, near Banbury, admitted possessing 0.18g of ketamine, a Class C drug, 95 tablets of diazepam, a Class C drug, and an offence weapon, namely a knuckle duster, in George Street, Oxford, on October 5. Also admitted destroying a telephone to the value of £100 at Oxford Police Custody Suite on October 6. Given a community order requiring four months of drug rehabilitation. Also ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge, £40 costs and £50 compensation for the telephone.
  • Martyn Cane, 43, of Dashwood Road, Oxford, was convicted of driving above the 30mph speed limit on Besselsleigh Road, Wootton, on June 9. Fined £80 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Licence endorsed with four points.
  • Jaroslaw Gniado, 36, of Lennox Gardens, Banbury, admitted drink driving on Lennox Gardens on December 1. Had 197mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood, over the legal limit of 80mg. Fined £320 and ordered to pay a £32 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 18 months.
  • Ray Higson, 50, of Hawkins Way, Wootton, near Abingdon, was convicted of driving above the 40mph speed limit on the A40 at Holton on August 3. Fined £235 and ordered to pay £85 costs. Licence endorsed with three points.
  • Stephen Bennet, 58, of Sutton Lane, Lower Brailes, Banbury, admitted drink-driving in Town Road, Banbury on January 8. Had 83 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mcg. Fined £110, a £20 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 20 months.
  • Edward Vines, 43, of Grosvenor Road, Oxford, admitted breaching a restraining order by sending an email in Oxford on December 29. Sent to prison for four weeks.
  • Mark Lelli, 32, of Sycamore Terrace, Kings Road, Bloxham, convicted of going equipped for theft in Enstone on September 16 after being found with a hacksaw blade, wire cutters, a hammer and gloves. He was sent to prison for 10 weeks.
  • Tom Wearing, 20, of no fixed address, admitted possession of Class C drug ketamine at Banbury Police Station in Warwick Road, Banbury, on September 26. Given an 18-month conditional discharge and told to pay a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Frank Clarke, 53, of Station Caravan Park, Station Approach, Grimsbury, Banbury, admitted shoplifting food worth £3.18 from Tesco in Middleton Road, Banbury on August 11. Also admitted attempting to enter Trysports in Sheep Street, Bicester, as a trespasser on September 23 and shoplifting alcohol worth £5 from Co-Op in Rotary Way, Banbury, on May 22. Also stole meat worth £52.13 from Sainsburys in Bicester on January 6. Community order made with drug rehabilitation and supervision requirements. Told to pay £3.18 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.
  • Samuel Buckley, 27, of Murcott Road, Upper Arncott, Bicester, convicted of driving without insurance in Middleton Stoney Road, Bicester on May 3. Fined £420, a £42 victims’ surcharge and £300 costs. Licence was endorsed with six penalty points.
  • Pardeep Bhogal, 39, of Beauchamp Place, Oxford, convicted of failing to give information regarding a driver’s identity when required to do so by police. Fined £625, a £22 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs. Banned from driving for six months.
  • Kieron Barnes, 22, of Boxhedge Road West, Banbury, admitted breaching a restraining order in Golden Villa Close, Banbury, on January 17. Given four-week jail term suspended for 12 months. Told to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge.
  • Jonah Miles-Collett, 20, of Black Bourton Road, Carterton, admitted possessing an offensive weapon, namely a knuckle duster, in Marlborough Lane, Witney, on November 18. Also admitted assault by beating in Marlborough Way, Witney, on November 18. Community order made with a three-month curfew order. Restraining order was also made. He was ordered to pay a £60 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.
  • Ellen Hurst, 34, of Church Rise, Finstock, admitted driving without valid insurance on The Ridings, Leafield, on November 18. Fined £125 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Licence endorsed with six points.
  • Mitchell Lewis, 25, of Linden Road, Wood Farm, Oxford, admitted assaulting a woman by beating her and causing criminal damage to two light fittings at a house in Pontefracte Road, Kingsmere, Bicester, on November 3. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge, fined £120 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £100 costs.
  • Michael Lilley, 42, of Pascali Place, Banbury, was convicted of stealing sausages worth £2.19 from Co-op in Ferriston, Banbury, on June 6 while subject to a suspended sentence given by Oxford Crown Court on April 25. Admitted possessing amphetamines, a Class B drug, in Banbury on September 17. He was sent to prison for 14 days.
  • Casey Scott, 25, of Winterbourne Close, Bicester, admitted stealing video games and blue ray discs worth £254 from Tesco Banbury on November 4 while subject to a conditional discharge for 24 months imposed by Banbury Magistrates Court on September 10 for theft. Given community order with one-month curfew between 8pm and 6am, and ordered to pay £60 victims’ surcharge.
  • Sharon Foster, 26, of Harcourt Way, Abingdon, admitted stealing two bottles of beer and two chocolate bars, worth £4.20, from One Stop Food Stores in Wootton Road, Abingdon, on November 9. She was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £4.20 compensation and £15 victims’ surcharge.
