OXFORDSHIRE’S official patient watchdog wants to know about patients who are having to wait weeks to see their GPs.

Healthwatch Oxfordshire launched the online survey after being contacted by patients having to wait up to four weeks to see a GP.

The 28 questions include queries about how long it took to get an appointment, waiting times on the telephone and if they were attempting to see their regular doctor.

Healthwatch director David Roulston, pictured, said fewer than 20 patients had been in touch.

He said: “Some people were reporting waits of up to four weeks. We also had a lady who had to wait two weeks for an appointment then, when she went in, the GP was unwell and she had to wait a further two weeks.

“In light of that, it would be useful to undertake a survey in Oxfordshire to see if this was a widespread problem.”
