BED and breakfasts in Woodstock say they already have room bookings six months ahead of the return of the CLA Game Fair to Blenheim Palace.
Establishments in the town say they expect to be fully booked during the popular event from Friday, July 18 to Sunday, July 20.
Organisers of the fair say that the event – which will celebrate the British countryside – will bring a £30m boost to the county with 150,000 people expected to attend over the three days.
Tristan McEwen, of the 10-bedroom Marlborough Arms in Oxford Street, Woodstock, said: “We are half full already. It is an event where we fill up.
“We take a minimum of a three-night stay. We will be competitive.”
Of the event, he added: “It is great. It is fantastic event. It brings people in.”
Marilyn Cassford, deputy manager of the Blenheim Guest House in Park Street, Woodstock, said: “We get booked as soon as the date is given.”
But he added: “On a weekend at that time of year we would be booked anyway.”
Kendall Williams, of The Punchbowl in Oxford Street, Woodstock, said the pub’s nine rooms were already booked.
He said: “I think it is great – anything that gets people out and having a good time.”
Visitors to the Game Fair will be able to take part in a variety of country activities including clay pigeon shooting.
Other attractions include a food market and cookery demonstration theatre and an angling exhibition, including fishing tuition and demonstrations.
