TWO men have appeared in Oxford Crown Court and admitted ram-raiding a convenience store in Witney.

Solomon Biddle and Nicholas Parker pleaded guilty yesterday to carrying out a burglary at the Londis shop, in Hailey Road, on October 29 last year.

Biddle, of Langstone Road, Havant, in Hampshire, also admitted aggravated vehicle taking in connection with a Ford Transit van between October 23 and 29.

The 28-year-old further pleaded guilty to the theft of number plates between October 27 and 29, and driving while disqualified and dangerous driving on October 29.

Together with another man, the pair reversed a Transit van into the Londis shop and made off with tobacco, alcohol and toiletries.

The van also collided with a police car as the raiders tried to make their getaway.

Biddle and Parker, 24, of Hampshire Street, Portsmouth, were remanded in custody and will be sentenced on Tuesday, March 11.
