ORGANISERS have announced SpecialEffect as the official charity for this year’s Twin Town Challenge.

The event, from May 23 to 26, will see 80 teams drive cars worth £500 or less from Witney to its twin town Le Touquet, in northern France, over a weekend.

At destinations on the way they will stop to do challenges to gain points on a leaderboard.

The 1,000-mile journey will take in the famous race circuits of Brands Hatch, Le Mans and Croix en Ternois.

SpecialEffect, based in Charlbury, helps people with disabilities enjoy video games. The charity is looking for more businesses in Oxfordshire to sign up to the challenge – which costs £995 to take part in.

Brendon Cross, of STL Communications, is helping to organise the event.

Mr Cross, said: “We are looking to give SpecialEffect a flying start to their fundraising with this year’s challenge.

“It is an incredibly enjoyable four days of team-building and networking.”
