Police last night warned people not to drive through flooded roads that have been closed.

Thames Valley’s Assistant Chief Constable Chris Shead said motorists could face “life threatening” situations or cause further flooding to properties.

He said: “It has been necessary for a number of roads to be closed. Unfortunately, some people are still ignoring road closures.

“Roads are closed as a last resort to protect local residents and the motorist.”

“Please do not ignore or contravene these signs, it could be potentially life threatening.
