Witney Gazette: Casualty departments miss treatment time target again Casualty departments miss treatment time target again

OXFORDSHIRE'S accident and emergency departments have again missed a target to treat 95 per cent of patients within four hours.

The latest statistics, published by NHS England yesterday, show Oxford's John Radcliffe and Banbury's Horton General hospitals took in 2,206 patients in the seven days to Sunday.

But 191 patients waited more than four hours to be treated, meaning 91.3 per cent were treated within the target time.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs the hospitals, has said many people are attending A&E who could be treated by other NHS services.

Since October 20, it has hit the weekly target twice.
