A judge overturned a ban on a Carterton man entering any UK retail site.
James Wells, 34, of Scott Walk, was handed the ban as a bail condition on February 8 over an alleged theft of £117.84 worth of goods from the Co-op, Eynsham.
On Friday he admitted breaching that condition by entering Tesco Express, St Aldate’s, Oxford, on Thursday.
District judge Tim Pattinson said the total ban was not “necessary or proportionate”.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Banbury Magistrates’ Court today.
