A SNAPPY passenger may have taken travellers by surprise at Heathrow airport as it made its journey to a new home in West Oxfordshire.

A two-metre Nile crocodile called Kajsa was flown from Denmark to its new home at the tourist attraction Crocodiles of the World on Monday.

Owner Shaun Foggett was asked to take the animal by the Swedish police after they found it living in unsuitable conditions.

He said: “The animal was found by the police in a greenhouse last summer. They couldn’t find anyone who could look after the crocodile long term.

“We were able to take the animal on and Kajsa can join the group once our other crocodiles get to a similar size. Until that time, the crocodile will remain in quarantine. Kajsa is two metres long, which is small for a Nile crocodile.”

Mr Foggett runs Britain’s only crocodile zoo at the former Foxbury Farm site in Burford Road, Brize Norton.
