THIS sunken vessel has made a dramatic reappearance from below the waters.
Eynsham resident Lucas Van Vuuren, 47, was present on Friday when canal boat There and Back Again was lifted from the River Thames after 10 weeks below the surface.
It was submerged near Swinford Toll Bridge shortly after Christmas when the river levels rose during the floods, but has only now been retrieved.
Mr Van Vuuren, a landscape gardener, said: “I think everyone in Eynsham will have seen it while it was under water.
“It gradually started reappearing as the water started receding.
“There was a crane on top of a pontoon and they winched it out of the river and pumped all the water out of it.
“Then they got it floating again and dragged it back to the boatyard at Oxford Cruisers.”
