WET weather over the winter has forced the postponement of the annual Fritillary Sunday in Ducklington for the second year running.

The event was due to take place this coming Sunday, but has been put back to April 27.

About 2,000 people come each year to see the fritillary meadow, near St Bartholomew’s Church, covered in the purple and white flowers.

Last year the event was postponed until May for the first time in 30 years, because a cold snap meant the flowers took longer to blossom, and they are late again this year.

The meadow will now be open from 11.30am to 5pm on April 27. For more details, see the St Bartholomew's Church website.
